Omer Akgul is a Computer Science PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park. Advised by Michelle Mazurek, he is a member of the SP2, MC2, and HCIL research groups. Omer’s research addresses critical human factors in security & privacy issues, focusing on the perspectives of both end-users and security & privacy professionals. His work has been recognized with a distinguished paper award (USENIX Security 2023) and regularly appears in prominent security and privacy venues.
